Awareness meeting on CCTV at Chennai Kodambakkam

After the ghastly murder of Infosys employee Swathi at Nungambakkam Railway station, the police are taking various steps for the safety of women folks. Since the CCTV played a vital role in nabbing the culprit, Chennai Police is taking steps to install CCTV in residential flats and big houses. Chennai Police is also creating awareness about CCTV.
Recently an awareness meet regarding the precautionary measures and importance of CCTV was organized at Kodambakkam Police Station. Speaking on this occasion Thalavaisamy Inspector of Police said: The women should be careful while going near the places where there are more flats and lodges. They should be more careful while there are fewer crowds and no lighting. They should wear lesser jewels. With the help of the people, CCTVs should be installed in the less crowded roads. Bu doing so we can identify the criminals involved in the crime. Don’t employ a servant without collecting their full details along with the photograph. People should inform about the crime occurrence immediately.
