Second phase of medical counselling to take place after 1 ½ months

The first phase of medical counselling was over. So far 2318 Govt MBBS seats, 65 ESIC seats, 402 Govt quota MBBS seats in SF colleges and 78 Govt BDS seats have been allotted.
 
The Second Phase counseling was tentatively scheduled on 18.07.2016. As of now, 72 MBBS seats in self financing medical colleges and 970 BDS seats in self financing dental colleges are remaining to be filled.
 
Addl. Director of Medical Education/Secretary, Selection Committee in  a press release has mentioned: The NEET examinations are to be held on 24th July. The results for this entrance examination will be released on 17th August. There are 467 vacant MBBS seats in 20 Tamil Nadu government medical colleges and 2 ESI colleges. Similarly there are 15 BDS seats vacant in government dental colleges. These seats are to be filled through NEET under All India quota. The unfilled seats will be returned back to State Government. All the seats remaining vacant during the first phase counselling and All India quota unfilled seats will be filled up during the second phase of counselling. It will take atleast one and half months to commence the second phase of counselling.”
