Aadhar card not mandatory for Angapradakshinam tickets - TTD

For devotees performing angapradakshinam at Tirupathi Venkateswara Temple, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams will be issuing admission tickets from 2.30 am to 3.30 am. 750 tickets are being issued every day.
 
Devotees, who need to perform angapradakshinam (rolling on the floor of the temple) at the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara near Tirupati now have to produce Aadhaar cards as identity proof.
 
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has decided to make the card mandatory for devotees from July 20. Devotees started protesting against this. When asked Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju, he said: TTD has made Aadhar card mandatory for Angapradakshinam tickets only for identity purpose and no curbs has been put on pilgrims with the introduction of this ID card system. The tokens will be issued to 750 pilgrims on first come first basis only.
