Voters list updating by EC

The Election Commission has begun the process of updating the voter list. In 2016 the National Electoral Commission has begun the process of updating the voter list. This work will be completed before the draft voters list is published. This work will be based on 1st January 2017. Voting booth officials will go to house to house for verification of the voters list. They will correct the flaws such as relocation, death and several times applied cases. They will also collect new voters’ names. These details will be uploaded in the website.
Apart from this the officials will also collect the voters mobile numbers, e mail IDs and family composition. These details will be kept confidential and will not be published or shared with any other official authorities. Public are requested to cooperate with the concerned electoral officials.
