Bank strike on 29th July

United Forum of Bank Unions declared to proceed further with their one-day strike on July 29 since conciliation measures failed to yield any fruitful outcome. The Unions have been against the proposed merger of the State Bank associate banks with SBI, privatization of IDBI and other banking reforms that the government has initiated.
Total about 10 lakh employees and officers of public sector banks will observe strike across India.
