Here is the easiest way to get privileged of having travel insurance. IRCTC in collaboration with ICICI Lombard General Insurance, Royal Sundaram and Shriram General has now come up with the new scheme for passengers, who get travel insurance at just one rupee, which will offer the families of Rs. 10 Lacs towards the death of passenger and 7.5 lacs for incurable disability that will last permanently among passengers and 2 Lacs for expense of hospital treatment and Rs.10,000 to commute the body of deceased passenger. This newly launched facility can be availed by all the passengers excluding suburban trains, which will not be included in this package.
Adding more information, the IRCTC official says that around 19 companies were involved in the bidding process and these three best banks were finalized. These three insurance companies will have the policy rotation on an automated process and the collaboration has been signed up for a period of one year, which will be extended based on their performance level.
The insurance policy can be availed while booking the tickets through online, where the option will be displayed in the process. The children below 5 yrs aren’t need of tickets and in case of passengers willing to include insurance, the full details about the children are supposed to be furnished.
