Agricultural loans to farmers to be waived from 2nd week of October

The officials from the Cooperative Department informed that the analytical activities on the waiver of agricultural loans in Tamil Nadu has been completed. The waiver of activities will commence during 2nd week of October for the farmers who have taken agricultural loans.
The list of farmers who have taken agricultural loans has been analysed thoroughly based on the guidelines and procedures given before.The analysis is expected to be completed by the 2nd week of August.Then the list of the farmers will be analysed by a team of officials from other districts. Especially, 10 percent of the loans in the list will be analysed thoroughly.This will be completed by end-August.
The final list will be put up on public display in the respective cooperative societies and banks. Suggestions will be sought from the public.The regional committee and the team from the cooperative societies headed by the registrar will analyse the data and suggestions. This will be completed by the end of September.The waiver of agricultural loans will start from the 2nd week of October.
No collections will be made from the farmers till this period. The government will release the details of the loan amounts recovered after the above activities are completed.
