Let’s join hands in rooting out this social problem and help in providing education to girl child. Let’s get motivated, be socially responsible and proactive in our drive against problem our country faces.

One out of every six girl child does not live to see her 15th birthday? Of the 12 million girls born in India, 1 million do not see their first birthday. Studies show that it is so because females are victimised far more than males during childhood. These figures, disturbing as they are, reflect the general stance of the community as a whole when it comes to women. This stance, a not very supportive one, also is adopted when a girl child seeks to study, when a girl after studying seeks to employ herself and when a woman seeks what she is entitled to by law. This regressive stance it is not merely discriminatory but hugely impeding for the women. Acknowledging the serious difference between the sexes, and stressing on the need to address the chasm, Prime Minister Shri Narender himself set the ball rolling in the way forward with “ Beti Padao. Beti Bachao” drive. We who have always stood for an equal opportunity social set up feel this to be a propitious moment to throw in our support for this cause. And Penn Kalvi Run is exactly that.
