With a view to enable the students of 10th and 12th Standards to learn Science easily, enthusiastically, and quickly, a new DVD with Science Lessons has been developed with the latest technology.
The Tamil Nadu Government has decided to distribute these DVDs to all the government higher secondary schools.
The state government has been initiating various measures to improve the quality of teaching and learning. It has now focused on the proper development of education and learning for 10th and 12th Standard students.
Tamil Nadu State Council of Educational Research and Training has developed a new App TN schools live incorporating the latest Image Recognition Application Technology which will enable the students to learn Science with a lot more interest. This App TN schools live can be downloaded on the smartphone from Google PlayStore.
If the students encounter any difficulty in understanding a particular Science Lesson, they can scan the figure on the relevant lesson.
Immediately, the students can view the figure in 3-dimension format and also listen to the explanation of the lesson.
For example, if student scans the picture on the lesson pertaining to the nerve system, the student can view the human nerve system in the 3-dimensional format. The student can also listen to a simple explanation of each part of the nerve system and its activities.
The science lessons which are apparently difficult to learn and understand will be rendered simpler and easier with the 3-dimensional images and related explanation. This will enable the students to understand better and learn with more interest and enthusiasm.
This new App was inaugurated by the Chief Minister Jayalalithaa last July.
Tamil Nadu State Council of Educational Research and Training has now developed an Android ‘off-line’ version of the above new App in a DVD format to enable students who do not have Android phones with internet facility. This DVD will be shortly distributed to all the government senior secondary schools.
The Director of the Tamil Nadu State Council of Educational Research and Training, V C Rameswara Murugan, explained that the App based on Image Application Recognition Technology is the latest useful device with rapid developments. When this technology is linked to the field of education, new techniques can be adopted in the teaching and learning methods.
The latest App has been developed on this basis. It has been introduced for the first time in India in Tamil Nadu only.
The student can learn throughout the day with this device. As lessons are explained with 3-dimensional images, the lessons will always be interesting and never boring. Students can learn and understand quickly and enthusiastically.
The DVD has been developed for the students who do not have smartphones with internet facility. This would be distributed to 6000 government secondary and senior secondary schools. Lakhs of students will derive this benefit.
