Are you badly addicted to smartphones? Is your memory power getting diminished eventually to such an extent that you do not even remember your own mobile number? If so, you might have fallen prey for digital amnesia.

What is digital amnesia?

This is an ailment where you tend to forget even very small detailing like mobile number, residential address, etc. In a research made in this regard, it is stated that smartphones carry about 50 percent of information that humans need to remember in mind. About 91 percent individuals rely on smartphone rather than their own brain. Our brain potential has got shrunk such that we cannot even remember a tidbit. Hence, when we lose our smartphone, it is more or less equivalent to losing our brain. By losing our phone, we do not just lose contact details of our friends, but lose all our memories as pictures and notes stored in the device.

This research was conducted by Kaspersky Lab which stated that about 25 percent people researched between ages 16 and 24 were afraid of what to do when they lose their smartphone. The main reason for this panicking situation is not having data backup of photos, contact details, etc stored in smartphone. Apart from this, instead of saving each and every detail in the smartphone, if we start remembering them in mind, it will be of great help at emergency situations. It is after all self-help which is the best help.
