The search teams searching the missing AN 32 IAF flight have so far found about 30 floating objects and intercepted 24 transmission signals but none of them were from the ill-fated aircraft.

The plane went missing  while flying back from Chennai to Port Blair. The aircraft, carrying 23 personnel and six crew members, took off from Tambaram Air Base in Chennai at 8.30 am and went off the grid at 9.15 am.

The search teams have now divided the ocean floor into various slots and all ships engaged in the operation have been allotted areas to try to locate the missing aircraft.

The search has also moved underwater after scouring the ocean floor did not yield any results. The underwater search is now being carried out by Sagar Nidhi and Samundra Ratnakar that have specialized multi-beam profiling that can profile the sea bottom.
