The Hindus celebrate the divine incarnation (birth) Of Lord Krishna (Paramathma) as Janmashtami or Gokulashtami in a grand manner.
This year (2016), Janmashtami falls on tomorrow - Thursday, 25th August.
On this religious occasion, special prayers and poojas will be performed in all Vaishnavite temples in Chennai Metro and its suburbs.
Special poojas, prayers, and Aaradhanas have been arranged in Triplicane Sri Parthasarathy Temple,Mylapore Sri Adikesava Perumal temple, West Mambalam Kothandaramar temple, Theagaraya Nagar Siva-Vishnu temple, Koyambedu Vaiguntavasa Perumal temple, Mylapore Madhava Perumal Temple, Sowcarpet Prasanna Venkateswara temple,Saidapet Sri Prasanna Venkateswara temple, Poonamallee Sri Varadaraja Perumal temple, Nerkundram Sri Karivaradaraja Perumal temple, Guindy Kothandaramar temple, Nanganallur Sri Anjaneyar temple, Sri Lakshmi Hayagriva Perumal temple,Sathurangappattinam Sri Malai Mandala Perumal temple within Chennai Metro and ISKCON’s Vaishnavite temple, and temples in Thiruvanmiyur and Sholinganallur temples.
