Prospects of rain in Tamil Nadu in the next 24 hours

As there is a cyclonic depression formed in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the coastal region of Kanyakumari, there are prospects of rain in many places in Northern Tamil Nadu today (Thursday, 1st September).
The Chennai Meteorological centre has informed that there may be heavy rains in a few places.
Because of the cyclonic format in the atmosphere, it has been raining widespread in many places over the last few days in Tamil Nadu.
The Director of the Chennai Meteorological centre, Mr Balachandran explained:
A cyclonic depression has formed in the upper layer of the atmosphere over the coastal region of the Kanyakumari. Because of this, there has been widespread rains in several places in Tamil Nadu and there were very heavy rains in a few places.
There are prospects of rains in the next 24 hours in most parts of Northern Tamil Nadu and few places in Southern Tamil Nadu. The rain may be heavy in a few places.
There may be rains or rain with thunder in a few places in Chennai Metro and its suburbs.
