Following protests by farmers and pro-Kannada organizations in Mandya in the Cauvery dispute matter, the Tamil Nadu Transport Corporation has suspended all its bus services to Karnataka regions but the buses run by Karnataka State Transport Corporation from Koyambedu operated the buses without any hindrance.
A senior KSRTC official said: Buses are daily operated from Chennai Koyambedu to Bangalore, Mangalore, Mysore, Dharmasala, Bellary and KGF. There 51 services every day. Yesterday night all the buses were operated. There is protest in the Tamil Nadu and Karnataka border. In spite of this, our buses are being operated. The buses for today evening are kept ready. Since the protest news are spreading fast. people are reluctant to travel to Karnataka. Only few passengers travel.
Heavy police has been deployed for security at KSRTC reservation office and terminus.
