Cars sales increased by 9.53 per cent in August

According to the industry data, passenger cars sales increased by 9.53 per cent in August to 177,829 units from 162,360 units sold during the corresponding month of last year.
Similarly motorcycle sub-segment sales, logged a growth of 22.19 per cent to 1,005,666 units.
According to Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, total two-wheeler sales in August grew 26.32 per cent to 16, 48,883 units compared with 13, 05,348 units in the year-ago month.
Reflecting signs of industrial recovery, sales of commercial vehicles went up by 1.53 per cent at 52,996 units in August.
Last year in the same month, the car makers had sold 52,198 units
