Light tremors in Cuddalore, Villupuram, and Perambalur

There was a mild tremor in several areas of the districts of Cuddalore, Villupuram, and Perambalur.
The residents had a panic, ran out of their residences and took shelter in the streets.
The tremors were felt more in several places in the taluks of Thittakkudi and Vepur in Cuddalore district. It was also felt in several places in Perabalur district. It is gathered that the tremors occurred exactly during the midnight session at 1.05 AM.
The tremors were also felt in Ulundhurpettai and its neighbourhood in Villupuram district.
The director of the department of Seismology explains:
The director of the department of Seismology has explained that there was no earthquake in the areas of Villupuram, Perambalur, and Cuddalore. In the Chennai Seismology Centre, not even light tremors were recorded.
In an interview with a private Television Channel, the director of the department of Seismology. Mr Mennatchinathan also informed that no tremors were recorded in the Seismology Centres in Koadaikkaknal and Salem and in Delhi as well.
