CM Jayalalithaa to inaugurate Little Mount and Chennai airport metro services today

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa will inaugurate the second stretch of Chennai Metro Rail, connecting Little Mount and Chennai airport at 11.30 a.m. through video conferencing. Union Minister for Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu and Union Minister of State for Shipping, Road Transport, and Highways Pon Radhakrishnan will also participate.
The services will be open to public from today. The 8.6 km stretch between Little Mount and the airport comes under phase one of the project. The stretch has six stations--Little Mount, Guindy, Alandur, Meenambakkam, Nanganallur Road and Chennai Airport. Chief Minister Jayalalithaa will also inaugurate these metro stations along with the St Thomas Mount station.
Sources said the fare for travel from Koyambedu to Chennai airport, a distance of about 15 km, will be Rs. 50.
