Navarathri Festival at Mahalingapuram Sri Iyappan-Guruvayurappan temple from 2nd Oct

The grand Navarathri festival is scheduled to be celebrated at the temple of Sri Iyappan-Guruvayurappan in Mahalingapuram from 2nd October till 11th October.
Music recitals and dance programmes will be conducted during the evenings throughout the festival.
On the Occasion of Ayudha Pooja on 9th October, the students can neatly pack their school books along with address in a neat pack to place during the pooja.
After the grand pooja on the Ayudha Pooja day, the books will be returned to the students along with Prasadams.
On 11th October, Vidhyaram - Akshara Abhyasam is scheduled to be performed from 7.30 AM till 10.30 AM.
The Temple Namboodrigal will write Hari Sri Ganapathaye Namaha on the tongues of the children with (finger rings) and pour rice on the stainless steel plate brought by the parent, and teach the child to write by holding the fingers.
The temple administration will provide free rice and other items required to perform Vidhyarambam including slates, writing implements, plates containing alphabets, etc..The parents can register in advance.
