Heavy rain inundated Chennai Roads

Heavy rain overnight inundated many roads in the city and suburbs, and brought rush hour traffic to a standstill on many arterial roads.
Heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder that lashed the city had left many interior roads water-logged.
Officials at the Meteorological Department here said that widespread rain was expected across Tamilnadu in the next 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rainfall (12 mm and above) is expected in coastal areas and heavy rainfall (7 mm-12mm) is expected in interior parts of the State.
