It was found that the Lithium batteries set in the tablets and smartphones release more than 100 types of toxic gas. The most important among these gases is carbon Monxide which can affect the environment, cause skin and eye irritation and the problems in the respiratory pipe,

Crores of users keep buying these batteries being unaware of the harms of these rechargeable Lithium batteries. It was found that the toxic gases were released when the smartphones get very hot or when using the batteries for long periods by continuous recharging.

The researchers have warned that even as the batteries are charged 50 percent, the toxic gases start getting emitted.
