Customers have been receiving cautionary messages from their respective banks asking them to change the ATM PIN after the biggest financial breach. Recently some banks came across fraudulent transactions in which debit cards were used in China and the US when customers were actually in India.

It has been mentioned that Crores of rupees have been embezzled. Nearly 35 lakhs debit cards PINs have been stolen.  Most of the banks have asked customers to change their PIN, and in certain cases blocked the cards and decided to issue fresh ones.

A bank official while speaking about this fraud has mentioned: Recently some of the people living abroad have stolen the PINs of debit cards of Indian citizen and have embezzled Crores of rupees. So as precautionary measures we are sending SMSs to our customers to change the PIN. Customers are also requested not to use bank links received by SMSs and emails. Moreover reliable bank apps should be used. Avoid debit/credit cards transactions while doing online purchases. Avoid bank transactions in internet centres.
