Heavy rains are expected

Dr.S.Balachandran, Director ACWC while speaking to the media said: There was dearth for northeast monsoon rains for the last few days in Tamil Nadu. Now it is soon to be revived. A trough in easterlies over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka Coast can be seen. In view of this, there will be rains in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coastal districts.
Heavy rains are expected in Kanyakumari, Nellai, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram and Nagapattinam. No warning has been given to ports and fishermen. In Chennai, the sky will be cloudy. There will be sporadic rains in the city. The maximum and minimum temperature will be 32 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
