Placing plea to be public to make use of their debit or credit cards as much as they can so that the strain on bank branches is less, the RBI has also announced that the currency printing presses are functioning at full capacity to cater to the increasing demand for new rupee notes.

The RBI further stated that in over 4000 locations across the country, there is enough stock of all currency notes. All the bank branches are directly connected to these sources for meeting their respective needs.

The printing presses are functional at their fullest capacity so as to sustain the demand and make enough amount of notes available.

Furthermore, following the announcement by Narendra Modi to demonetize the Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, immediate actions were taken to withdraw all the scrapped notes from ATMs.

While on one hand these actions are being taken, the public are also requested to help in smooth functioning by opting to pay using debit or credit cards or internet banking wherever possible. All the customers of Jan Dhan Yojana are requested to make use of it, says RBI in a pleasing note.
