When will the new Currency Note of Rs. 500 be released?

High Court Judge Kirubakaran raised the question when will the new currency note of Rs. 500/- will be available to Tamil Nadu.
Mr. Ramamurthy has filed a petition to the Chennai High Court regarding the non-supply of currency notes to the agricultural cooperative banks.
When this case was taken up for enquiry, the High Court Judge Kirubakaran raised the question when the new currency note of Rs. 500/- will be made available in Tamil Nadu.
This question was answered with an explanation on behalf of the Reserve Bank of India that as the new Rs. 500 currency notes have many safety features, it is rather difficult to tell the exact date when they will be issued for circulation.
On behalf of the central government, it was replied that no orders can be given on this as the case regarding this issue is pending in the Supreme Court.
Following this, Judge Kirubakaran postponed the enquiry to 28th November.
