For the benefit of the devotees visiting Sabarimala and also with a view to protect the environment, the state government of Kerala has made certain arrangements and regulations:
  • Do not bring any Pooja Items in plastic bags, containers, or bottles.
  • The Kerala High Court has banned the custom of drying the devotees’ towel and dhothis after bathing in the sacred Pampa river,
  • The devotees visiting Sabarimala have to ensure that they carry the First-Aid box. This is because the Kerala state government does not permit the vehicles without first-aid boxes to enter in the state checking booths.
  • Especially the groups of devotees coming from Tamil Nadu must not carry any LPG cooking gas cylinders. The checking booths will not permit the LPG cooking cylinders to be carried.
  • It must be ensured that there are 2 drivers in the buses in which the journey is undertaken. Also, the drivers must carry all important particulars of every devotee in the bus.
  • Every visiting devotee to Sabarimala, especially, the young boys and girls should hang their photographed Identity Cards around their necks. This would be helpful in case the children lose their way.
