University of Madras postpones its convocation

Registrar David P. Jawahar of The University of Madras announced on Tuesday that it had postponed its 159th convocation scheduled for December 1 due to administrative reasons. Vice-Chancellor R. Thandavan of the University of Madras tenure came to an end on 17th January. Since a vice chancellor was not appointed for a long time, convenor committee was formed to take care of the university’s administration.
In the absence of a vice chancellor it was decided to hold the University of Madras’s 159th convocation on 1st December but the syndicate in the recent meeting opposed the holding of convocation in the absence of a vice chancellor.
In view of the foregoing Registrar David P. Jawahar of The University of Madras announced on Tuesday that it had postponed its 159th convocation scheduled for December 1 due to administrative reasons.
