Rains have begun - Cyclone Nada is getting closer

The cyclone which is centred near Chennai will cross tomorrow morning (2nd December). This cyclone has been named Nada. In view of this cyclone there will be rains from today morning in Chennai and Tamil Nadu coastal districts. At this juncture, rains have already started in Chennai Egmore, Pudhupettai, Central and Nungambakkam. Similarly there are rains in Tiruvarur, Koradacheri, Maavoor and Magudi. There is heavy downpour in Karaikal, Nagai, Vedaranyam and Poompuhar.
The cyclone is presently 430km offshore from Chennai at Bay of Bengal and moving at a speed of 20km an hour.
