Rains expected in Chennai

Farmers and people are very much worried and distressed since there were insufficient rains during this northeast monsoon this season in Tamil Nadu. At this juncture cyclone Noda which was formed in the Bay of Bengal weakened and crossed the coast. Because of this cyclone, Tamil Nadu received limited rains. A low-pressure area has already formed over the South Andaman Sea.
Director of Area Cyclone warning Centre at RMC here, S.Balachandran, said: A low-pressure area has already formed over the South Andaman Sea and adjoining Sumatra Island. This is expected to concentrate into a depression by Monday and a deep depression the next day. We are monitoring these activities. There will be mild rains in Tamil Nadu because of this low pressure area. There will also be rains in Chennai also. Recently there were rains in Tamil Nadu for the last three days.
