Condolences from millions of people, VIPs and leaders flow in to Jayalalithaa

After months of illness and continual treatment at the Apollo Hospital in Chennai, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the Iron Lady, J. Jayalalithaa took her last breath on the evening of Monday.
 
Jayalalithaa got admitted to the hospital in September with complaints of respiratory troubles. On Sunday evening, the news about her suffering from cardiac arrest came out creating shock waves, after hours of doctors affirmation that she is fully recovered.
 
The announcement about her death evoked grief and sorrow to the legions of all her supporters for all of whom she is the Amma. 
 
Ever since the announcement, political leaders, film stars, and others are pouring in their condolences. 
  • Narendra Modi, in his tweet has stated that he can never forget the very many occasions that he had shared with Jayalalitha
  • From the official Twitter account of President of India, it is  stated that the country has lost an icon who has all the love and affection of the public 
  • M.K. Stalin the opposition party leader and DMK treasurer described her as the iron lady and a courageous leader
  • Superstar Rajinikanth has tweeted stating that her loss is that of a brave daughter’s to the entire country 
  • Saddened by the loss of Jayalalitha Ji, states Amitabh. He has further quoted that she is the CM of a state that has enjoyed over 100 years of cinema
