As time changes, the crimes also changes. In order to lessen and prevent the crimes Tamil Nadu Police is looking forward to the technologies. Earlier the affected people have to give written complaints at the police station. Action will be taken by the police after all the crime is done. After this the control room was commissioned.  Those who are in danger can call the police by dialling 100. Police will rush to the crime scene and take suitable action. Throughout India the control rooms have received 66 lakhs 12 thousands and 76 calls. As far as Tamil Nadu is concerned 2 lakhs 21 thousands and 661 have called the control room.

At times, even before calling the control room all the crime will take place. So now Chennai Commissioner George has asked to develop a new technology. Now software called Kaavalan software is being developed. A police official while speaking about this new software said: The software which is being developed now can be downloaded in all the android phones. During an emergency, if the affected person presses any key in the phone, the locations will be identified immediately by the police. Police will rush to the spot. Another important feature is once you press the key the camera will automatically start functioning. The noise will be clearly received by the police control room. The police will come to know that how a person is affected by the criminal. This will help the police to speed up the help. The software is to be introduced by the police department very soon.
