Additional page to be inserted in ration cards for one more year

The State Food Department has decided to extend the validity of ration cards by adding additional pages, which will be valid for one more year (31st December 2017)
Though most of the cards had expired in 2009, their validity was extended by attaching additional pages. It was decided that smart rations cards will be distributed from this month-end and the department had sought Aadhaar details from the people.
However, since most of the people have not submitted their Aadhaar details, the progress of the work has been hampered, which has led to the department inserting an additional page.
