Normalcy to return to the banking system by February- SBI Chairperson

The central government took stern steps to demonetise the high value notes on 8th November. This step was taken to abolish black money and fake notes.  
 
Since Rs 2000 and Rs 500 notes were not printed sufficiently, there was scarcity of money in the banks which resulted in people sufferings. ATMs are not dispensing cash properly for more than 50 days. Only very few ATMs were open.
 
At this juncture, State Bank of India (SBI) Chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya said normalcy will return to the banking system by February-end or March, with an uptake in credit growth.
