WhatsApp turns obsolete on these devices

Over 95 percent of smartphone users in India make use of WhatsApp messaging platform. Now, a news has come that announces withdrawal of WhatsApp service on select smartphones. Though these phones will not lose the use of the mobile messaging app completely, few upcoming features will not be available for these phones. It can better be defined that these mobile phones can make use of the app as long as it is compatible to their device.
A statement released earlier this year stated that WhatsApp will not support few BBOS, Windows, Symbian, Android, iOS Operating System versions.
According to WhatsApp announcement, the last date to support these select smartphones will be 31st December 2016. As per this, those who use older versions of Android, iOS, or Windows phone will not be able to access these features with Symbian and BBOS. This move is being taken by the messaging platform following the market predictions that state that feature phones will be completely overtaken by smartphones in the year 2017.
It is important for these users to note that their WhatsApp information will be prone to risk. There will be higher security threat to WhatsApp users on these older smartphone operating systems as they will not be able to make updates.
BlackBerry, including BlackBerry 10, Nokia S40, Nokia Symbian S60, Android 2.1 and Android 2.2, Windows Phone 7.1 and iPhone 3GS/iOS 6 are the phones on which WhatsApp will turn obsolete.
