The Police have warned the public to be alert about the credit fraud gangs. Following the demonetization, the central government has been encouraging cashless transactions. Because of this, the number of credit/debit card users for their purchases has become quite high.
The police have warned:
The Sri Lankan National, Siva Surya, who was residing in Chennai, was arrested for manufacturing fake credit cards. He deployed his gang members in the petrol bunks and commercial complexes.
When the customers/buyers swipe their credit cards, these gang members used to note the PIN (secret number code), collect them and pass it on to Siva suriya.
Using this data, Siva Surya indulged in credit card fraud activates. As the usage of credit card/debit card has increased following the demonetization, it is expected that this gang would come playing the same trick again. So, the Police have warned the public not to reveal their PIN of credit/debit card in any way.
