Tamil Nadu remains shutdown in operations for Jallikattu protest

In support of Jallikattu protest, Government employees and staffs, Transport companies, Retail shops and almost every sector in the state has decided to remain shutdown with the operations and sales. This includes the auto rickshaws, buses, cabs, lorries and all means of public transportation refraining from the regular services. 

Around 9000 members in the Private School Transportation service have decided to take part in the protest and henceforth, the school bus and van services wouldn’t be operating today that has made the nursery, primary and Higher Secondary School to declare holiday. But Government School Director, Kannappan has announced that the circular regarding the holiday declaration for Government Schools isn’t delivered yet and the decisions by collectors would be made based on the current situations. As of now, the Government schools that come under the Kanchipuram province would be operating as on regular basis.
 
On the behalf of Nadigar Sangam, the protest involving actors of Tamil film industry has already started around 9 a.m. that will go on till evening 6 p.m. The Noon and Matinee shows in the theatres have been shutdown as well.
 
When it comes to public transportation, 4.50 Lakh Lorries have stopped on its operation that started off by morning 6 a.m. and will go on till evening 6 p.m. Because of this around 1,500 Crore worth goods and products would get stuck.
