For the first time in Tamil Nadu, a public service centre has been launched in Chennai Anna Salai Head Post Office. Cell phone recharge and bus ticket booking can be done in this centre.
On behalf of Indian Postal Department, for the convenience of the public, public service centre is being launched in certain post offices. At this juncture, for the first time in Tamil Nadu, a public service centre has been opened at in Chennai Anna Salai Head Post Office.
Chennai City Region (Chennai) Ms. Radhika Chakravarthy Postmaster General inaugurated this service centre. In this centre there are 13 services. They are Aadhar card registration and correction, payment of property tax, cell phone recharge, passport and PAN card, advance booking of train and buses and payment of EB bills.
Chennai City Region (Chennai) Ms. Radhika Chakravarthy Postmaster General while speaking said: I am very happy I am inaugurating the first service centre at Anna Salai Post Office. Very soon these service centres will be opened in 93 head post offices throughout Tamil Nadu. Next we have planned to open the service centres at Vellore and Tiruvannamalai. After this, we are planning to expand this service centres to other areas of Tamil Nadu. No service charges will be collected at these centres.
