Reports have been received that a few districts in the state of Tamil Nadu have been affected with a few cases of swine fever.The state Department of Health has been taking preventive measures against the swine fever.
The state minister for Health Vijayabhaskar and the Secretary of the Health Department, Radhakrishnan had a session with the press reporters.
Swine fever is a seasonal sickness and nothing but a variety of flu which can be cured easily. As the state government had initiated all preventive measures against the swine fever, especially to avoid incidents of deaths, this has been brought under total control.
If medicines are taken as per doctor’s advice, swine fever can easily be cured. The Health Department has a current stock of 11.14 Lakh Tommy Flu tablets, 31271 cases of Tommy Flu syrup, 10640 medical protection masks, 30681 No. 95 facial safety masks, and 3 Lakhs of 3-lyered facial masks.
Arrangements have been made by setting up special wards, in all government district hospitals, and all the government medical college hospitals.
The senior citizens, children, pregnant women, diabetics, and those with heart problems having any symptoms of swine fever must immediately visit the doctor/hospital and take treatment. If swine fever is detected at an early stage, it can be identified and cured easily be taking medicine.Some procedures can be followed to prevent swine fever.
Persons returning from a visit to other states or countries affected with symptoms of swine fever must immediately visit the doctor to confirm it. While coughing or spitting, cover the face with a handkerchief. Wash hands frequently and thoroughly with soap.
If any symptoms like fever, cold, cough, or throat pain are felt, make an immediate visit to the doctor. Strictly avoid taking self-prescribed medicines.And also, avoid buying medicines in the pharmacies without the doctor’s prescription and taking them.
