Newly enrolled voters will be getting their Voter IDs from February 15 and this news has been officially cited by Rajesh Lakkani, Chief Electoral Officer of Tamil Nadu.
In his recent interview, he has mentioned saying, Around 15.26 Lac people in Tamil Nadu have been included in the voters’ list and 2.36Lac people among them have given their mobile numbers. Their secret code pin number will be sent to their respective mobile numbers. Using this PIN, they can approach the nearest Government E-service centre and show it to obtain the colour Voter ID. The cost for this new colour Voter ID would be afforded by the Electoral commission itself. For the ones, who haven’t given their mobile numbers, the Voter IDs will be distributed from February 15. If the respective individuals are interested to get the IDs before this date, they can pay a sum of 25 rupees and obtain it. They can dial the Toll free number 1950 and give their mobile communication number, to which the updates will be sent through SMS.
