Supreme Court: Impose new regulations for sales of SIM cards

The Supreme Court has ordered the central government to impose new restrictions within a year for the sales of SIM cards for cell phones.
When the Supreme Court was conducting an enquiry regarding the sales of new SIM cards, the Supreme Court ordered for immediate measures to be taken for the prevention of misuse of new SIM cards giving false addresses and indulging in illegal activities.
As even bank transactions are done nowadays on the cell phone itself, the Supreme Court insisted and ordered that the full particulars of the SIM card buyer should be obtained and a new regulation should be imposed accordingly within a year. It adjourned the case.
