YouTube gets a new feature that allows forwarding or rewinding a video by double tapping right while viewing. This feature is made available both on Android as well as iOS.
A number of Redditors with Android and iOS devices have reported this feature. However, it is not available for everyone. Up to what we know thus far, one can forward or rewind a video by double tapping the video. The speed of these processes is limited to 10 seconds. This feature will be accessible in either modes – landscape and portrait.
On iOS, this feature might have got introduced with the recent software updated where video control while the screen is locked was enabled for Chromecast videos.
Be it any device, the scrubber along the bottom is not very user-friendly on smaller displays, thus making the new double tap feature a highly welcomed one for video navigation. When viewed horizontally, the videos related to the video being played will slide up from below. This makes a mess every time on iOS app.
