3 more metro rail routes in Chennai soon

As a second phase of the project, three new routes are set to get metro services and the second project report for the same is submitted to the Tamil Nadu government. Metro rail flies between Chennai Koyambedu and Meenambakkam every day. Now, as the second phase of this scheme, three new metro routes are to be laid. Several studies were made for the same.
The proposed three routes include
- Madhavaram to Siruseri via Mylapore
- Madhavaram to Sozhinganallur via Koyambedu and Perumbakkam
- Nerkundram to Vivekanandar Illam via Koyambedu
This covers a distance of 105 km and the project estimate is roughly Rs 45,000 crore.
