Idea initiates USSD based platform

According to Idea Cellular’s announcement today, USSD-based platform is enabled for the shopkeepers and customers. This will enable digital transactions with Idea Money Service. USSD will enable financial and banking transactions not just only on smartphones but on feature phones as well.
Though smartphone is penetrating to deep corners of the country, there are majority of people who still do not have access to the web and use only feature phones. At this stage, transactions made with USSD are a necessity for those users to also have digital payment access.
There is Idea Money USSD Pull feature which will enable Pull Payments. With this, the merchant can initiate receipt of payments using their mobile numbers.
Being different from other kinds of transactions which requires initiating the complete flow of payment, Pull-based USSD will enable merchants to make such transaction flow only by providing OTP, thus increasing convenience of transaction.
