The temple corridors of the famous Sri Ayyappa Swami in Sabarimala are scheduled to be opened at 5.00 PM on 12th February for the occasion of conducting the special Poojas during the Tamil/Malayalam calendar month of Masi.
At 5.00 PM on 12th February, Deeparadhanai will be performed on the deity of Lord Ayyappa and the cleaning activity of the sanctum sanctorum and the surroundings will be taken up. The temple corridors will remain open from 13th February to 17th February.
During this period, Ghee (clarified butter) Abhishekham will be performed on the deity of Lord Ayyappa daily. Further, Kanakabhishekham, Udayasthamana Pooja, and Padi Pooja are also to be performed.
The scared flag-hoisting pole at the Sabarimala temple is quite old and needs to be repaired. After Deva Prasannam, a decision was taken to remove this old flag-hoisting pole and replace it with a new one.
Accordingly, special pooja is scheduled to be performed at 10.00 AM on 17th February and the old flag-hoisting pole is being removed. The foundation for installing the new flag-hoisting pole will be done. Once the installation activities are completed, the new flag-hoisting golden pole is scheduled to be installed at 11.50 AM on 25th June at Sabarimala.
