S. Kannappan, Director of School Education has ordered that students should not go to construction places in the schools. In view of the student’s security, he has sent circulars to all the district chief education officers, district education officers, district primary schools, assistant primary schools officials and inspectors of the matriculation schools.

In the recent times, due to extraordinary events some school students are losing their lives. In order to avoid these deaths completely, the following guidelines should be strictly adhered to:

All the water storage sumps, open wells, sewage tanks and water tanks should be closed and students should not be allowed to go near them.

All the electrical connections in the schools should be checked. The security should be confirmed by checking if there is any electric leakage or disorders. Switches should be checked. If necessary the power can be disconnected temporarily.

Students should not be allowed to operate electrical appliances.

The roofs should be checked if they are firm.

Movements of the students near the construction sites in the school premises should be banned. Proper fencing should be done around the low lands.

All the headmasters of the schools should ensure the safety of students.  Inspectors should also check the functioning of headmasters with this regard.
