Recently indicted AIADMK General secretary Sasikala has submitted a petition to the Supreme Court asking for a 4 week period to surrender. She has explained that her poor health condition is the main reason for the 4 weeks period for conducting some tests.
The Supreme Court has given the verdict that Sasikala and 2 others are guilty in the disproportionate assets case. It has imposed a fine of Rs. 10 Crores each for the 3 guilty persons.
The judges have asked for the immediate surrender of the 3 guilty persons. This verdict has caused extreme sensation and excitement among the public.
In this scenario, another emergency petition has been submitted on behalf of Sasikala. This petition states that the verdict is accepted. However, as the General secretary of AIADMK party, certain essential duties are to be performed. These have to be completed. As the health is is also in poor condition, visit for a complete medical check-up is required. So, a time for 4 weeks is needed before surrender. The petition requests that it can please be treated as emergency request and early results to be given.
Information is gathered that this petition may be taken up for enquiry this afternoon (Tuesday, 14th February).
