WhatsApp gets revamped Status feature

Here comes a new feature on WhatsApp quite similar to an existing feature on Snapchat. It is called the Status which is a new tab. All photos, videos or GIFs shared here will vanish within 24 hours of sharing the content. This is similar to that of Snapchat Stories, but is encrypted on WhatsApp.
Jan Koum, the co-founder and CEO of the mobile messaging platform shared his excitement stating the Status feature will be reinvented on the 8th birthday of WhatsApp. From today, the update to the Status will be available. Here, one can share images, videos, etc with friends and other WhatsApp contacts in very easy and secure way. The status updates made are also encrypted end-to-end.
The text-only status feature on WhatsApp that has thus far been on WhatsApp will be replaced with the new feature. Earlier, there were rumors about the release of the same feature which was then not true. In November, it had tested the feature on iOS beta. Now, the official announcement about WhatsApp is made to all the smartphones on OS platform including that of Android, Windows, and iOS.
