210 candidates from the state of Tamil Nadu have been selected from the main exam conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) to serve in the high cadre of the Indian Civil Services such as IAS and IPS. This examination is conducted in 3 successive stages: Preliminary, Main Examination, and the interview.
In the preliminary examination conducted on 7th August 2016, around 5 Lakh candidates wrote the examination throughout the country. Out of this, 15900 candidates were qualified for writing the Main Examination.
The Main examinations were conducted from 3rd to 9th December 2016. 2961 candidates were successful in this main examination.Out o this, 210 candidates are from Tamil Nadu.Now, the final stage of the interview is scheduled to be conducted on 20th March in Delhi. 112 candidates who underwent the free training session conducted b the Manidha Neyam IAS Academy have qualified for the interview stage.
Similarly, other institutions such as Manidha Neyam Training Centre, Shankar IAS Academy, Sathya IAS Academy, etc, have announced free preparatory training programmes for the final stage interview for the IAS/IPS Cadre.
