Bharti Airtel’s major move is now official. The telecom major is set to get rid of national roaming charge both for voice as well as data services. More than 268 million users will be benefitted with this move. This initiative is taken in order to compete against Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio Infocomm.

Airtel has announced that all incoming calls and SMS will be free, and there will be no premium on outgoing calls made while on roaming within India, thus ends the era of national roaming charges, said Gopal Vittal, the MD and CEO of Bharti Airtel, India and South Asia.

The daily billing and price of basic one day pack will be adjusted automatically for all the customers who do not buy roaming pack.

This will allow Airtel customers to carry their mobile all over India and across the world. From 1st of April 2017, there will be no charge for data usage while on national roaming.
There is 90 percent slash down of call rates and is now Rs 3 per minute and there is 99 percent slash on data charges and have reached Rs 3 per MB in roaming destinations.
