Best quality city administration structure: Chennai is in the 8th place

The Metro city of Chennai has secured the 8th place in the list of the top cities in India with the best city administration structure.

The company Janaagraha undertakes an annual survey of cities considering about various 83 aspects including urbanization, city administration, transparency in the government services offered, the extent of the reach of the city administration infrastructure to the public, etc.

The survey was undertaken in the year 2016 covering 21 major cities in 18 states in India.

Thiruvananthapuram (Capital city of the state of Kerala) has secured the 1st place.

Chennai Metro, which was in the 12th place in the 2014 survey, progressed to 8th place in the year 2015 and has retained the same place in 2016 as well.

Though Bengaluru scored high marks in several aspects, as other cities like Bhuvaneswar, Ahmedabad, Raipur, and Ranchi advanced further, Bengaluru got the 16th place.

The assessment of the quality of cities is based on a scale of 0 to 10. Indian cities score from 2.1 to 4.4 makes. Foreign cities like London and New York score 9.3  and 9.8 respectively.
