Protecting your tweets on Twitter account comes with a lot of benefits. Placing a request before following your account, visibility of posts only to your followers, no option to retweeting your posts, restrict your posts from popping on Google searches, etc are among those.

So how do you get your account private on Twitter?
Login to your account and you will have a dropdown at the right top where you will find the Settings option. Click on it and you will notice Security and Privacy settings. Under Privacy option, you have a menu called Tweet Privacy, and against this, there is a checkbox called Protect My Tweets. Check this box to keep your tweets protected.

On the other hand, you can Request Screening for your Twitter account. In the home page, you get to notice all the followers, and pending followers’ request. Click on the pending followers tab. This will show up the list of all followers request. Either Accept or Decline the request. You can either Approve or Decline request.

When you decide to decline a request, the requester will not get to know about your denial, however.
